Online Pawn Broking - A Hot Prospect

With the credit crunch in full swing and an increase in those who would pawn their own granny if it meant making a pound or two, it seems that the traditional pawn brokers is set to take over the Great British high street once again.  Despite this, one Dorset-based firm is outlining why those who are offering loans online are in the best possible position in such a saturated market.

With unprecedented numbers of high street pawn brokers appearing on the high street, it seems that short-term loans are officially becoming the flavour of the month, as Loan Purchase, the nets newest firm to offer short term loans against a variety of larger items including grandfather clocks, motorbikes, jet skis, artwork, grand pianos, supercars , planes, boats and yachts along with business commercial items such as JCBs and Diggers, are finding out.

Daryl Self, Managing director at Loan Purchase, who offer short-term loans with a difference, said, “Those firms who offer pawn broking in the form of high street chains, are really cashing in at the moment, but firms who are offering loans online, are really the ones ahead of the game. The obvious benefit of operating online is that you are able to reach a huge global market, making the sky the limit.”

Developed after a gap in the market was found to exist for a service that allows for an item to actually be purchased, Loan Purchase gives each customer the option to buy back the item for a small fee after an agreed amount of time. This period can be extended by up to six times- revolutionizing the way the money market is run.

Mr Self added, “I have found from business experience conducting your business online is certainly the way forward as it allows for reduced processing costs and it also means that you can be open for business 24 hours a day.  At Loan Purchase, we are finding that our business enquiries have reached unbelievable new heights and we hope to continue with this growth pattern over the next few years.”

According to figures launched by the Internet World Stats, the number of people surfing the net has now risen to a staggering 1.6 billion worldwide.  The traditional pawn brokers was feared to be in great decline, but thanks to the current economic situation, it is set to undertake a huge revival, especially as the banks are now reluctant to lend.

Mr Self, from the firm who has seen their enquiries hit record highs, added, “Conducting business online also allows for the quicker processing of payments and it can also enable you to gather information on your past customers, for the use of email alerts or future marketing.  The pawn broking business is set to be very fruitful over the next few months and we are looking forward to acquiring more and more items.”
